WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT
We are a non-profit, family oriented club dedicated to promoting the sport of four-wheeling on our public lands. We strive to keep existing roads and trails open for all off-highway motorized recreation and to enjoy and protect our natural and cultural resources in the pursuit and enjoyment of the outdoors and back-country trail exploration.
We attempt to educate the public while projecting a positive image of off-highway motorized recreation in a safe and responsible manner and by adhering to the tenets of the Tread Lightly! philosophy. Whatever we take into the backcountry we take out and always remove trash left by others. Leave No Trace.
On club outings members and guests are helped if they have vehicle problems and no one is ever left stranded on a run. As enjoyable as it may be, we do not recommend traveling alone in the desert – safety in numbers!
We have an adopted trail, the Sleeping Princess, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management. It is a challenging trail, not recommended for stock rigs. The club is responsible for the bi-annual maintenance of the trail, removing any trash or debris we may find. It is best to navigate this trail with at least three vehicles – no more than twenty. Vehicle damage and vehicle breakage is possible. In 2015 we hope to adopt several more trails in the Bullhead City, Kingman area.
Come and ride with us as a guest – you’ll have a good time.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS ARE:
Must own a four-wheel drive vehicle; attend two runs and two meetings within a one year period; fill out an application for membership and pay $45.00 annually for dues (on a quarterly pro-rated basis). Dues may be subject to change. A portion of our yearly dues helps support the Arizona State Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs with a portion of that supporting our pro-motorized legislative lobbyist who alerts us to any negative bills that could adversely affect our sport. We are members of, and donate to, the BlueRibbon Coalition, strong national advocates for multiple use on our public lands.
Now that you know what we’re all about come and join us – we do have fun – and so will you!
CLUB MEETINGS
Meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month, with the exception of July and August, when, due to the extreme heat, the club “goes dark.” Meeting location is at the Mohave County Library at 1170 E. Hancock Road, Bullhead City, at 6:30 p.m. (subject to change). Meetings last approximately an hour to an hour and a half. Guests are always welcome
ELECTIONS/RUNS
Officers are elected in December for a two year term, but can be re-elected if they so desire. Yearly, the president appoints a board of directors with the vice-president as chairman of the board. We have one official club run a month with members volunteering to “trailboss” additional runs at any time. At the December meeting we attempt to choose runs and trailbosses for the upcoming year. As soon as possible after a run the trailboss submits a trip report and photos to the editor for the monthly club newsletter, the Bullsheet.
